How meditation helps to focus your mind, diet and wellness?
Does meditation make you more conscious of the food you eat? Yes, it does. Meditation is a proven path to stay mindful of what you eat, how you feel and become more aware of the present.
Being an experienced dietitian and wellness coach, I deal with cases of binge eating while you are emotionally disturbed. I did an extensive research on this and collated my studies and experience in a book: “Diet & Meditation for Emotional Eating: Awaken the Master Inside with Spiritual Science and Food Science”. This book includes my own spiritual journey and experiences that force me to embrace new aspects of my being. It covers various layers of wellness, diet and nutrition consultation approaches, extensive studies on factors affecting eating habits, and tips, tricks and recommendations that support your wellbeing. I decoded my life through a spiritual journey. So I wanted to share my experience to others so that they too could embark on their journey to heal themselves.

Positive beliefs, comfort and strength gained from meditation can contribute to the physical and mental wellness of a person. You have to identify the things that bring you inner peace, strength and comfort. It can help you to stay insightful and nurture relationships with yourself and with others. In today’s stressful world, it is essential that everyone should find time for a self-renewal through meditation. It helps you to recognize and acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses.
Meditation for binge eating
Do you find yourself mindlessly stepping into your kitchen and grab something to eat when you are emotional? It could happen when you are anxious, sad or even happy. Don’t worry! You are not alone. Many people face this issue and there are ways to overcome it. Binge eating is one among the different ways in which our brain redirects us to do something habitual when we try to settle the uncomfortable emotions ourselves.
Many of my clients resort to me after doing everything possible to reduce their weight. When it comes to managing our weight, the first thing we should do is to acknowledge the mind-body connection. From my experience as a dietitian, most of my clients overeat to cope up an emotional swing or stress. Another major reason for obesity is lack of self-love. It could be caused by negativities around a person, suppressed feelings, emotions and abuse. So I consider inner-child healing very essential while dealing with clients who approach me for obesity or weight loss consultation.

All of us believe that we do a fairly good job maintaining our health with good eating habits and physical activity. Apart from this, there are more factors that need to be considered to lead a healthy lifestyle. This includes positivity, work-life balance, self-love, gratitude, forgiveness and discovering your true potential. You need to be fuelled to meet the demands of daily life. Even smiling and laughing at simple comics can keep you grounded while facing tough situations in life. Healthy lifestyle makes a big difference in your life.

Protein supplements: do we really need them?
Every country has its own food culture which includes natural and local food items. Even in India, particularly in Kerala we have a good food culture which includes combinations of nutrients in the right proportion. It is a globally accepted fact that man-made food may not provide the same goodness as natural ones. Now FAO and other global organizations are creating more awareness on local low-cost food to support farmers as well as human wellbeing.
Does supplements provide you sufficient nutrition?
During my practice as a nutritionist and dietitian, whenever a new client joins they ask a variety of questions. Many of them say that hours of exercise with so many supplements makes no changes in their body. I noted that during lockdown more people observed how to get results with simple exercises and diet. Recently a few celebrities consulted me for diet plans. They were curious to know about the benefits of normal Kerala diets. They have been using too many protein supplements which are more than their body can utilize. They also suffer health issues related to higher uric acid levels.
I have also seen people from rural areas who are struggling with financial issues also spend so much amount for imported products and weight loss and protein supplements. A good education on this subject may help the community and others too. Being a dietician, I am obliged to share the right information about food. Even in the 2019 FSSAI meeting, the participants discussed the public health issues associated with supplements intake and the efforts taken by the India Government to spread awareness on the local low cost food.
In the recent years as part of business and material development, India has been importing so many goods such as supplements. Many of them are even banned in other countries. But the fact is that our normal daily diet provides sufficient protein required for our body. An increased level of protein supplements cannot be tolerated by our system. Research shows that that our body weight depends 80% on our diet and 20% on our fitness efforts.
Are protein and other supplements substitute for food?
Supplements are not substitutes for food. They can’t provide the nutrients and health benefits of whole foods. A normal diet that includes fruits and vegetables provides a variety of micronutrients which your body needs in a more balanced way. It also provides dietary fibers essential to keep diseases such as diabetes and heart diseases at the bay. Supplements offer limited nourishment to the body as you get only specific vitamins and minerals. However, in some cases supplements are needed especially when you are required to supplement your natural food intake. But it should never replace your healthy diet.

It will also improve the local bio diversity. Select more fruits and vegetables that can be eaten raw. This would help to save the energy used for cooking. Eat seasonal food items and preserve them for future use.

A healthy meal plan can change the way you feel and live and give you a better quality of life. Of course, what you eat has to be tailored to your body’s specific needs. You might have seen a lot of diet plans out on the internet, with claims from weight loss to building muscle. Diet plans are not a “one size fits all” option. Diet and Gall bladder stones
Recently a client from Sydney joined with Nutrisolutions after a gallbladder stone surgery and we suggested a diet which helped to maintain better health and overall wellness. As a nutritionist and dietitian, I was just trying to understand the general pattern of diet followed. But he was found to have a normal diet with a bit more carbohydrates than what he exactly needs as a sedentary worker. Maybe the excess of calories converted to fat and get stored in the system, which might have served as one of the major causes of high triglycerides level. This happens in many clients even though they are not taking a high-fat diet. Each person is different and their daily needs also varies. In most cases I just look into their emotions and childhood trauma or the relationships which affect them and the more pain or grudge towards the self or during the growing age could be an impact and inner child healing trauma relaxes the stomach .
Recently a few cases came with IBS and other intestinal disorders who had a lot of emotional and various kinds of abuse during childhood. So an overall analysis may help even though many of them are unaware of these minute things which actually affects the health, mind, and emotional layers. The book which I published on Diet and Emotions gives a better idea about the impact of various emotions on our health and how it affects various organs. Meditation is really helping my clients to heal their PCOS and various psychosomatic illness.
If it is food, go for a normal balanced diet according to your age and work or metabolism. I recommend foods that are high in fiber, such as fruits, vegetables, beans, and pulses. Reduce refined carbohydrates and less sugar and go for complex carbohydrates like rice-based ones. Eat healthy fats, like coconut oil, fish oil, and olive oil, in limits to help your gallbladder to contract and empty regularly. Avoid unhealthy fats, like those often found in desserts and fried foods.
Drink enough water and it helps in overall wellness and better mind or utilization of water-soluble vitamins and finds the type of stone. Each kind of stone has a specific diet to be followed. Regular follow-up is essential to understand the condition.

Does immunity boosters prevent Corona?
As a nutritionist and wellness coach, I get so many queries regarding immunity boosters daily. A lot of sales are going on in all areas due to COVID and people who don’t know anything about diet or local food and nutrition is spreading all wrong news about immunity. Yesterday, I had an interview regarding this topic in a leading newspaper.
The food movements like eat right movement promoted by FSSAI and all local food with different varieties and colors are good. There is no superfood or any immunity booster that can prevent COVID. Maybe a balanced diet that includes the local food from all food groups can help.
A man-made virus spread for destroying humanity is reflecting people to find the truth and the myth which was spreading to mask the truth against diet and nutrition science. In every nutrition program we can find stalls with thousands of local food items as superfood from coconut to jackfruit which were available in almost all households in Kerala. However, it has some effects if you include it in a balanced diet. And mind or emotions and mental health issues are more now so stay at peace with what you have than believing these. People have the right to know the truth and they decide what is the best and your life is your choice. This is just derived from the discussion with thought leaders and dietitians around the globe and from my own experience in the last 17 years as a nutritionist practicing in India and believing in the power of nature and natural food and meditation to heal!.

How nutrition quacks and poor supplements affect your health?
The first quarter of 2020 started with more COVID pandemic issues in India. There were more discussions regarding the health and wellness of people in Kerala and India. Since many of my clients and friends were dealing with similar issues and with the aim to see a healthy nation, I wanted to spread the right information as recommended by the Health Department and the National team India to focus on Eat Right Movement and food plate.

I hope that the research and experience of thousands of clients’ emotions, various other socio-economic factors and the importance of mental health compiled in the book will be considered by the team. It’s a worldwide report of clients from different parts of the world, which forms the Nutrisolutions Global Community. We help people to support and evolve in all areas of life than giving them just a Diet Plan. Many of my clients who are affected during lockdown are more peaceful and they are better aware of the ascension process happening on the earth right now.
The blessings in disguise
The last 20 years of meditation and blessings of masters from the Himalayas and abroad helped me to understand the metaphysical phenomenon of changes in the human system. This enabled me to make people aware of their own energy to heal their cells and evolve. No wonder that those who joined our community for infertility issues are conceiving with the right nutrition tips of organic local food or the way they understood their inner voice than listening to their external limited issues.
A healthy balanced diet can help heal or nourish and helps to cure infertility. Many of them have experienced the healing from illness and a life with abundance. So we continued the meditation sessions at 10:00 pm, which gave inner peace to the public. This is helpful to retain positivity when so many negative news like the surging rates of depression and suicide due to COVID reaches us on a daily basis.
Yes, it’s difficult to make people understand in a limited knowledge of three-dimension. However, spiritual science research in various parts of the world including that of Joe Dispenza and Heart Math Institute helps people to understand other layers of the body. Our masters in India and the 10,000-year-old Veda also mentions it. The power of sunlight in healing and curing deficiencies are also being successfully studied across the world.
To make people understand the healing power of Vedic mantra and Rigveda, we started another free session on Gayathri Mantra Chanting Meditation. I have been chanting it since my childhood. It helps me to understand the hidden truth of this world.
Nutrition quacks and supplements
People who do not have enough knowledge in Nutrition Science are spreading awareness on supplements. Weight loss products sales from nutrition quacks are at higher rates now. Recently a friend who is a doctor in a renowned hospital in Kochi referred a patient who was suffering organ damage. Long hours for exercises in gym and wrong advice on supplements damaged her organs. Heavy metals and weight loss products recommended by the gym expert contributed to her illness. This made me think and understand the relevance of watching the nutrition quacks and their sales through foreign agencies and other business associations. Their aim is mere profit. Spreading wrong information they promote thousands of immune boosters even through reputed health professionals in Allopathy, Ayurveda or Homoeopathy.
A majority of the fake news about COVID healing is spread by nutrition quacks without any solid background in nutrition and dietetics. These information are not recommendations of any authorized bodies like ICMR, WHO or FSSAI. If you check FSSAI for the right information on COVID, there is no prevention or cure with supplements or food. Rather they recommend a normal balanced diet without interrupting the food chain. It is also informed that many supplements which are banned in other countries are being circulated in countries like India. My recommendation is to always ask the qualification of the person who suggests a diet plan. It is always more important to share the right information than a wrong diet plan.
Our take on nutrition quacks
Since I completed my Masters from College of Agriculture Vellayani, and studied with a scholarship, our focus is always on community. There were only three seats plus one ICAR candidate for the project. Our project work and research was equal to a Ph.D. thesis with much effort, than adjustments. I later understood how easy it is to submit a project in normal colleges while I was teaching or helping students in their research work.
While working as a Dietician, I understood the various degrees of applied knowledge in the clinical cases. It was surprising to find that in Kerala or India anyone with a quick certificate on nutrition or a supplement sale agent can act as a Dietician. But they can harm our nation and people by killing the Indian Food Culture. We are not illiterate to be cheated. A normal homemade diet with different food groups adds enough proteins and nutrients for a day. If planned wisely with the right portion and follow up, in three months you can stabilize the essential nutrients in your body.

How Much Protein Do We Really Need ? – Local food & Supplement myths
Indian diet or Kerala diet is having all the good combination of nutrients in the right proportion and any place in the world they all have a food culture which is natural and man-made food may not provide the same goodness as nature and now FAO and other organizations creating more awareness on local low-cost food to support farmers as well as human beings on earth. The food culture of 10,000 years we have in India and we never make food to kill people but nourish and we consider guests as God.
But in recent years of business and material development and importing of so many goods, even many of them banned in other countries including supplements are being sold here Kerala or India and increasing the level of protein may not be tolerated by our system and normal food itself provide enough protein for a day. DIET AND MEDITATION – Lockdown Emotion Healing
Being a Dietician , my research was always focused on simple easy diet options suitable for my clients and according to their preference and locality. Since I am living here in Kerala ,”God’s own Country” and majority of my clients even though they settled in different parts of the world I just experiment more into their gene type and childhood. Since most of the food we tasted during the first one year have an influence on our system and even the person who serve food especially in the absence of mother or the emotions of care taker also have a metaphysical effect on the child. There are so many factors other than food which make a person enjoy the moment of life into more meaning and stress free .
If you are a a person who bought up in a stressful home were no one listen to your emotions or instead of getting a hug or listening busy parents often shows love by presenting more food as rewards and thus a kid bought up in such situation may get attracted to the food when ever they need some love or someone to listen .So just understand the emotions and feelings and write it down to understand who you are in essence. May be emotions are many and each person feel it differently. Emotional quotient and spiritual quotient are equally important as intelligent quotient. Particularly during current scenarios of Covid and related depression, in a country like India or South India where we have 100% literacy and more focus on education and profession than understanding the delicate emotions or energy. Heart is more intelligent than our brain .
Being a Meditator for the last 20 years, I did experiments, and underwent stages of painful transformation. I was born and brought up in a house of spiritual freedom. My father was a Veterinary Surgeon who was an advanced spiritual soul, extraordinary person in an ordinary community who flourish in light with his own hard work and insights. The way he put out his passion to build a business was different. Its more of farmers friendly and supportive research and breed developments which is suitable for Kerala and is an inspiration for many. May be the way his energy and dedication made us to explore our own purpose than following the money he saved. He never interfere but said each soul read and understand spirituality based on their maturity. So we have no strict rituals at home. We used to visit temple, church or even do Ramadan fasting with lot of friends and families. During Onam celebrations or food festivals, whenever anyone who visit home were served with a lot of food even though they come for purchasing something and all his knowledge he share free to society. After shifted to a city and marriage made a lot of conflict and mind was not ready to accept the new system of business modules tried tested and failed and thus moved in a unique way of understanding and free services limited to those who truly deserve or the one who understand the value of energy and the transformation in their system. May be the way father advised to study in Agriculture College to study Food Science and Nutrition with scholarship helped to understand what exactly food science means and its connection to nature and natural produces or to support local farming . During this lockdown, in order to support the community from severe anxiety issues, I started online free retreats of meditation and knowledge sharing to make them understand their true light and master inside which is really helping my clients and friends who understand this journey and current cosmic energy shifts which is predicted earlier and even written in my book “Diet and Meditation for Emotional Eating”
If you ask me the benefits of meditation, I will say it is being with the God inside. A meditator understands the journey and masters in higher dimension channel. Their messages and guide for the highest good, which is what I understood. Now being guided by Himalayan masters or even Christ consciousness or Buddha consciousness which I am learning and experimenting in the last 2 years or being connected to such freedom of spirituality were the masters advice us the true path of enlightenment as to follow our own soul. and it heals automatically by just sitting and observing the breath, which is our master. Freedom and experiment helps people to understand their unique essence than blind following of ritual in three dimension or following a Guru or stuck in the path when universe itself is helping us to shift consciousness and evolve to love frequency of heart like the innocence of a child to get charged with the light codes from nature. Removing all lower dimension program of sin, guilt, shame and pain created by structured religion which hide truth and breaking all barriers that affects your uniqueness is what the masters channeling it through my work or just an object were this light is passed to those who seek knowledge or wisdom .May be many times the words trigger others but that is also a process of clearing the blocks in society which is dominated with just money, manipulation and spirituality marketing and conversion to another religion or system making them away from truth and more suffering. From 2020 onwards we are our own master creators and our path is already defined. But just be yourself than trying to be one among the group .
When I started my spiritual practices during adolescence my father gave me a copy of “Gayathri Mantra” book written by babaji of Shaktikunj Haridwar. It was a new experience for me and I used to do all rituals and the mother which is a universal prayer and beejmantra it was such an intuition and improvement in studies and talent. I couldn’t visit that place or never got a Guru directly. But during my college days one of my classmate told about a spiritual class of an organisation were I blindly followed the rituals and techniques and forgot chanting my mantra. After so many years of so much energy blockages and so much karma clearing and sequences of events in family and loss which cannot be answered by medical science, I myself understood the spiritual bypassing is not spirituality. But inner healing and clearing and understanding the self. A situation was formed in my life were I seek help of a mentor from other part of the world in higher dimension of energy or a mirror which helped to understand truth and unconditional love. His name was connected to Christ and he said “Gayathri your name itself is divine, no need to follow any lower dimension ideas and that’s why your parents put that name and listen Gayathri Mantra ,understand your light and no need to help everyone but the one who comes to you” which made me to realise what I missed in life and why I gave importance to everyone else to suffer and 14 years of married life was also a good learning period, healing and clearing a past life. But I always cherish what life gave and this motherhood to experience true unconditional love and thus I could understand others and help them by seeing the solutions in another dimension. Even though truth is a bit painful, your soul love to listen to your truth than living in shadow, or life inside a golden cage but to fly and sky is the limit or clearing and healing our past with forgiveness is the path of enlightenment. Our soul forgets when we come to earth school and add more karma than clearing what it triggers.
May be due to the pain in understanding people skip their childhood experiences and mask it with profession, or migrating to other country or achieve lots of material. But it never satisfies them and no one can take anything from mother earth except the love that you give or receive or the skills you learn. Karma is not punishment but its a science to heal and clear the dense energy and mediating is one of the major process in evolving and being guided to walk in purpose and support humanity. May be many souls who is in the beginning layers of learning cannot understand what meditation or mindfulness is. It is not the meditation that we are talking about and experiencing different layers of body and even the travel to whole universe and experiencing the extra terrestrial beings or the light which cannot be totally understood by logic brain. Many of my clients who are physicians or bank employers struggled to understand this dimension. But after a month of meditation together online they all are experiencing their life path clearing old programming where all power was given to family society or knowledge reading in book. Let us see the worth and master inside and heal the planet earth during this ascension with good emotions of love, which heals .

Lock down Obesity and Emotional Eating
Lock down is a period of self realisation. Due to various reason and financial instability, many of my clients are worried. They all are connected from different parts of the world through Nutrisolutions’ Global Community social media platform. One – to – one communications are helping them to come out of the trauma. The current pandemic situation is really affecting the mind, body, emotions as well as the thought process. In order to support the community, a movement to uplift the mind was started earlier. We have also initiated a worldwide meditation 2020 program where we connect twice daily through group meditation.
Although Nutrition is the science of food, it is also connected to the wellbeing of our emotions. The approach of dietician in understanding the situation as well as the food culture, personal preference or religious belief. Particularly in a country like India where we do a lot of rituals or social functions is also connected to food habits. Now due to Ramadan many of them are into deep meditation and intermittent fasting. It is purifying the mind and even the emotions. Food plays a major role in mental health and stability. The nutrients in a balanced diet help and water play a major role in brain health and our body is more of water . There is no super food or immunity boosters. But your own daily nourishment from local available sources and a customised plan with right motivation shows more results than reading lot of nutrition tips and applying everything.
Emotions are energy in motion. It has a major role in affecting the body and mind. Stress is a part of modern world where each one is running for something like others around them. A few minutes of meditation actually helps my clients to find the root causes of that they are affected. Food is not the only source of energy but the suggestion we give to our own self. When we are relaxed and with more universal energy from meditation, it clears all the blockages of life and new opportunities enter into the life. So this period is really important to understand the true purpose .I always feel so much happiness for this passion in creating awareness on healthy eating and local low cost food and the transformation it brings in people,their emotions and relationship. Writing down all emotions and some tips to save energy for the day make you feel more better and self love, which is the opposite of anxiety and fear .When we are in fear we create a lower vibration energy. Always remember that world food chain is affected according to WHO and remember the chances of starvation when you feel like to over eat. May be our ancestors faced more of these pain and starvation which made us to store more fat percentage and more chances of obesity in our gene. Some studies shows that Asians have more chances and our body type or mind set is different. We cannot take world standard in the case of obesity since there are so many factors which is correlated to weight gain and the approach towards the problem .

Healthy tender coconut pudding recipe
- I just love to have “tender #coconut pudding “ even though I never cook any dessert or cakes at home. But whenever we go out, I love to order this soothing dessert. I think in a place like Kerala with lots of coconuts 🌴 this could be our “signature dessert “ to offer like Neera our signature drink with lots of nutrients. It’s a good idea to promote local produce anywhere in the world, which is easily available, low cost and after all, it suits our gene and memories 😊😊😊
Coconut pudding recipe
Add a can of condensed milk and milk cream (can use Amul ) in a bowl. Also, add a cup of full-fat milk and a teaspoon of real vanilla extract.
Whisk all the ingredients well to combine. Bring the mixture to boil. When it comes to a mere boil, remove from heat and set aside. Soak 5 grams of agar (china grass) in one cup of water for 5 minutes. Bring it to a boil and let it simmer till the china grass is melted. Strain and add to the pudding mixture.
Add in the tender coconut meat to the pudding mixture.
Pour it in ramekins and let it set in the fridge for 4 hours. Serve cold.🤩
